OA - Organisational Analysis is to gauge the overall health of the organisations; viz. the business processes, organisation culture, responsiveness and sensivity of the various members in the organisation. OA helps determine the system bottlenecks to be overcome. It is to identify areas of attention, and allocate needful resources for the same.

In an Organizational Analysis attempt is made to diagnose:
 
  • How much confidence is shown in subordinates?
  • Where is responsibility felt for achieving organization goals ?
  • How well superiors know problems faced by subordinates ?
  • How much covert resistance to goals is present ?
  • At what levels are decisions formally made ?
  • Is there an informal organization resisting the formal one ?
  • Does the prevalent systems in organization suffers from inertia ?
  • What ails the business processes of the organization ?
  • Is there scope to foster a climate for creativity and innovation ?
  • Are the responsibilities distributed horizontally or vertically in the organization

Position Structure The extent of direct supervision and formalization.
Reward Orientation The extent of incentives provided for higher effort and performance.
Consideration The extent of socio-economical support provided by others.
Conflict The extent of expression of differences and blocking of each other.
Progressiveness and Development The scope of growth of self, other members and organization as a whole.
Risk – Taking The extent of freedom to experiment with new ideas.
Control The degree of check imposed on behavior of organizational members.
